"While I am buying an RO system from you should I order an extra membrane and carbon filters?"
Most people will not mention this (or do not know) but RO membranes and carbon filters have a shelf life. We highly recommend that you buy your carbon filters and RO membranes right before installing them and not to purchase extras until you need them. We take pride in offering not only today's replacement cartridges/membranes but we also offer replacements or RO units that we used to sell.
"How often should I replace my filters and membrane?"
This is a very common (and difficult to answer) question. It depends a lot on your water conditions, water quality
and your usage. We believe that in no case (no matter what brand that you have) should you keep the filters longer than a year (changing them every six months is better) nor the actual RO membranes longer than two years (changing once per year is better of course).
"I have a 'standard' RO unit and I need parts. Will yours fit?"
There really isn't any such thing as a 'standard' Reverse Osmosis unit. If you purchased your RO from us, we currently have the filters and replacement cartridges for all of the types and brands that we have sold. Just let us know the model number and we will know what parts that you will need. If you did not purchase the reverse osmosis unit from us, we cannot furnish you with membranes or filters for your RO system (exceptions are Kiss - Drinking Water Solutions brand and Culligan® "will fits").
"I originally purchased my RO elsewhere and now need filters and a membrane for it. I believe that your filters and membrane will fit. If I order them and they don't fit can I return them?
Before you place an order, let us know that you did not purchase your RO from us and along with that, send us all the information that you have about your RO. Also, please read our return policy page.
"I have an Aristrocrat 4000, but I heard that there might have been multiple configurations. How do I know which filters I need?"
The Aristocrat 4000 reverse osmosis systems were sold in two different
styles. Both styles used the 30 GPD replacement RO Membrane #KISS-1990154-1.
One style had two vertical housings, and two horizontal. One of the horizontal filters was the RO membrane itself and the other one was a post polishing filter. The first vertical cannister used the KISS-2400001 sediment pre-filter. The second vertical cannister used the KISS-2400024 carbon pre-filter. The horizontal post polishing filter was the KISS-2400010.
The other style had three vertical housings and then only one horizontal filter which was the RO membrane. The first vertical cannister used the KISS-2400001 sediment pre-filter. The second vertical cannister used the KISS-2400024 carbon pre-filter. The third vertical cannister used the KISS-2400999 carbon pre-filter.
"You show two Post Filters with the same numbers #KISS-2400010 and the KISS-2400010-QC. How do I know which one to purchase?"
The Post Filter #KISS-2400010 has 1/4" female iron pipe threads on the inlet and the outlet which enables you to take the fittings off of your old filter and reuse them in the new filter. The Post Filter #KISS-2400010-QC has the new style Quick Connect fittings built-in to the filter housing to allow 1/4" O.D. plastic or copper tubing to simply push directly into the fitting for a quick and easy leak proof connection.
