    Most Frequently Asked Questions
"Which one of these nozzles do you recommend?"
We like the top three the best as they come with a removable/cleanable 100 mesh filter. With misters the nozzles need to be very small, so filtration ahead of the nozzles is very important. Note that these removable strainers will need to be cleaned periodically. With the two bottom styles (and with all brands of nozzles), we highly recommend that you install a filter ahead of them in line.

    "What does gph stand for?"
Gallons per hour. Note that the biggest nozzle dispenses about one and a half gallons per hour (at 30psi).

"Will these misters cool my patio/pool area?"
It does depend on the humidity levels in your area, time of year and outdoor temperatures. The hotter, the less humidity in the air, the better these will work to cool down an area. These are extremely low flow misters with a very small droplet size. Besides being used as a misting/humidifying device, its major use is for outdoor cooling. The immediate evaporation of the mist can reduce the air temperature by as much as 20º F. The hotter and drier the air, the greater the cooling effect. If you live in a humid area, these misters will probably not do much except add more humidity. If people use evaporative coolers in your area to cool their houses, then misters will work to cool the outdoor area. One secret of evaporative cooling is that you don't want misters to be right next to your body. That is why we recommend them at a height of 10' or more. That makes them at least 4 feet away from most people. In low humidity areas, misters work best. In high humidity areas, they don't.

"Will these misters drip at all?"
According to the manufacturer, all plastic misters will drip some. As water builds up in the pipe and in the mister itself, the excess water will drip, rather than mist, from the misting orifice. Also, as the mist forms on the outside of the mister, it, too, will eventually create a drip. By installing away from furniture and your seating area (i.e. around the perimeter of the area being cooled), you may not find the dripping to be problematic.

"Will these misters deliver the same volume of water no matter what water pressure I have?"
The ratings are at 30psi, which is the minimum pressure that we recommend. At 55psi they deliver about 50% more. An example is that the most popular one, the MIST-T10, delivers about 1gph at 30psi; at 40psi=1.2gph; at 50psi=1.4psi; at 60psi=1.6gph; at 80psi=1.9gph; at 100psi=2.1gph. We don't recommend pressures over 60psi with any of them, but the top three can take as much as 100psi. We highly recommend that if you have pressures over 60psi incoming, that you install a pressure regulator before misters (any brand).

    "What are the spacing/installation recommendations?"
Misters should be at least 10' above the ground and be spaced at about 2' intervals.

"Why don't you offer mister kits with everything included?"
We don't think that kits satisfy many people, and we do not wish to offer them. You can buy as many misters as you like with us, and you can add more later. Just buy PVC or poly tubing and install the misters.

    "Do you offer brass misters?"
We have been "in the business" of selling misters since we started. We used to offer brass misters but found that customer satisfaction was much greater with the above quality plastic misters. There are misters and then there are misters. Brass misters generally are durable but our customers seem most satisfied with top quality, reliable misters that don't clog very easily. Our plastic misters tend to clog less than all brass misters that we have tested and sold. We are not saying that the misters that we sell won't clog. They will over time as all misters (no matter what type and no matter what brand) will. We are saying that ours tend to clog less than brass ones.

"I bought a kit elsewhere and now need just a few misters to repair it. Will your misters work/fit?"
Possibly. The inlet on the top three are 1/8" standard thread and this size is the most common size sold in kits. We do not know if ours will fit, so please check the size locally with someone that knows sizing. Maybe take one to a hardware or plumbing store and ask if your misters are 1/8" standard thread.
