"How do I determine whether I need a 5-inch handset or a 7-inch handset?"
Because our handset lengths listed above are measured from the threaded end (where your hose screws on) to the tip of the spout, you should be able to determine the spout you need by unscrewing it from the hose and measuring it from end to end (either 5 inches or 7 inches).
