- Basket Strainers -
go to special finish, quality basket strainers - go to Revere Stainless sinks
"What type of cleaner do you recommend to clean my basket strainer bodies with?"
Mild, liquid dishwashing soap is the best. Also, please note that food acids (tomatoes, etc) will attack polished brass and most non-chrome finishes. We suggest that you do not use abrasive cleaners, and - though we offer other finishes - we recommend that you only purchase chrome-finished baskets.
"Are the polished brass, white, almond, etc (special finishes) as durable as the chrome finish assemblies?"
No, we like to recommend only chrome-finish baskets as they are less likely to tarnish with proper care. Metal-bodied basket strainers with special (non-chrome) finishes generally do not last long under harsh acidic (tomatoes, etc) or other sink conditions. Because of this, we do not warranty, guarantee, or promise that metal strainers with special finishes will last long. The chrome and all-stainless steel basket strainers that we offer will last longer and are always the better choice.
"I know that you recommend the chrome-finish basket assemblies because they are the most durable. But I really want a basket strainer assembly in white (or almond, biscuit, black, red, etc.) Don't you have anything that is more durable than the metal-body, special finish assemblies?"
We do offer high-quality, Celcon® (plastic) strainers in various colors (non-metallic) click here for Opella Celcon® basket strainers. Because the color is in the plastic, these will not chip like metal-body, special finish assemblies. Both standard and disposer drain assemblies are available.
